Blog #6 The Horse Racing Industry:Issues and Reforms

About this research paper, the topic is The Horse Racing Industry: Issues and Reform. We know that in the research paper, we have to use many references to support the topic and explain the it, so how to use these references are very important for us. There are also many ways to use the references, such as quotation and paraphrase. Because of these ways to use references in our research paper, our paper can become more and more knowledgeable.
In this paper, at the first paragraph, writer uses the quotation. The writer quotes a sportswriter and racing strategist's words. I think because at the beginning of the paper, writer needs some specialized opinions to make the paper more professional. And from the quotation, it gives a good metaphor for this topic. Even though some sports looks very gentility, they can be as cruel as cockfight. From this quotation, writer can make authors to think about the meaning of the horse racing and why some people support to ban it.
At the beginning of the second paragraph, writer uses the paraphrase. Writers use a article for the Time. Because at this part, the writer should explain about the structure of the horse and explain the harm for the horse, so the writer need some profession reference and use her own language to explain it. Because not every author can understand the specialized word. That makes every author can understand her paper easily.
Because of these ways that writer to use in the paper, it makes this paper more and more professional and more and more people can understand writer's opinions.

Zhuoru Blog #5

The "Burn my Heart at Wounded Knee" and the "Discovering the Truth about Columbus" are both about the histories. From reading the history, you may think if the loser became the winner what will happened?
For example, in Chinese history, in Tang Dynasty, the second Emperor is Emperor Taizong of Tang, but actually, he was not the crown prince, his brother was the crown prince, and his brother  and he had the different opinions of the country  they could not agree with each other. So in 626, at the Xuanwu Gate of the palace, he killed his brother and became the crown prince and next year he became the emperor. Even though he killed his brother, he really made a contribution to the country. Durning his ruling ,country became more and more powerful and the people really respected him. But if he didn't kill his brother and his killed him at the Xuanwu Gate, what will happened? I think maybe the country would had a different situation. Because his brother will be a emperor and he had the different political opinions. I can not explain who is right or who is wrong. Because the truth is Emperor Gaozong won, so from the history, we can understood that he is a good emperor. And his brother's opinions became the wrong. But if his brother won, maybe Emperor Gaozong's opinions will became the wrong and everything would be changed.
So, from the history, if you imagine that the loser become the winner and the winner became the loser, is really funny but some times it is difficult to judge who is right or who is wrong, because we can not understand the really background for that time.
